A Little Bit More About Me

I have recently defended my PhD thesis at the Research Group on Mathematical Linguistics of Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, Spain.

I am currently holding a Juan de la Cierva postdoc position at University of Cantabria  (December 2009- November 2012).

To keep track of what I do and where I am you can visit my weblog. Unfortunately, at least for the time being, it is available only in Romanian.

I enjoy travelling*, snorkelling/diving, cooking, watching movies and all activities that imply spending time outdoors (as long as it is not raining). I like studying new languages and discovering intriguing details about different cultures.

Spoken languages

  • Romanian: native speaker
  • English:      fluent
  • Spanish:    good knowledge
  • Italian:       some knowledge
  • Catalan:    very limited knowledge

*Places I've been to:  England (London), Netherlands (Rotterdam), Greece (Athens, Thessalonica, etc), Italy (Florenta, Rome, Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Venice, Verona, Trasacco, Avezzano, etc.), Vatican, Monte Carlo, Germany (Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe, Lauterbad-Freudenstadt, Köln, etc), Austria (Vienna), France (Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Saint-Malo, Mont St-Michelle, St Etienne, Paris), Sweden (Stockholm), Finland (Turku, Helsinki), Czech Republic (Prague), Hungary (Budapest), Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Sendai), US (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Saragossa, etc.), Portugal (Lisbon, Porto, Sintra, etc).

Places I want to visit: everything else!
